14 January 2007

Social & Boat launch - 14th January 2007
A quick meeting, social BBQ get-together, and a new boat launching...
The biggest roll-up to CDSC in years - 22 people! The Clubhouse was full - lovely.
(The Dam's water level was at less than 12% capacity on this day...)

L-R: Marcia (standing), Catherine, Greg, Michelle, the Tory boys, Dave, Geoff, Folkert (in green stripes).

Marcia facilitating a quick, efficient meeting. A fantastic rollup. We actually ran out of chairs - a fantastic way to be!
Left-right: Dick (foreground), Jill, Rosie, Catherine, Marcia, and Michelle with her two boys.

A full-house (literally!) for our first meeting and social get-together of 2007. Fantastic to see such a great roll-up.

The meeting is just underway. What a great roll-up - and even more were on their way!
Dick reads his Treasurer's report - it's all positive.
Left-right: Dick, Michelle, Louise (on lap), Timothy waving to the camera (as usual! heh heh), Geoff (obscured), Folkert, Greg, Ben and Tom.

One of our casual meetings. Short and sweet. Hank agreed the Clubhouse hadn't seen so many people in quite a few years! Excellent!

Dave readies to hit the water for the first time in his new Laser.

Everybody helped Dave launch his new Laser!

Dave Tory receives a rousing cheer in celebration at the launching of his new Laser.

Lots of Chiefs and too little Injuns for Dave, launching his new Laser? Nuh uh! Everybody helps everyone else here... and we all learn off each other as well.
Afterwards Marcia spent a bit of time discussing the role of the centerboard with Dave.

Everyone was excited to see Dave launching his new Laser. Don't get too wet coping in that howling breeze out there, Dave!

And Dave's on his way for the first time on his new Laser, amidst much cheering and happy encouragement.

"Duuuhhh... should we have told Dave dat we took dah bung out of his boat...?"
Timothy and Geoff considering the finer aspects of sailing...

Dave enjoying his new Laser, despite the lack of wind and blazing summer sunshine. A sail is a sail!

Enjoying the spectacle of Dave launching his new Laser were (l-r) Ben, Greg, Dick, Jill and Hank. The water level was just below 12% capacity! :(
