Timothy Hone's Maritime Medal
Just prior to Christmas, on Wednesday 20th December 2006, club member Timothy Hone was awarded the Maritime Medal for his contribution to sailing in the Central West, and specifically for his work to develop and run this branch of Sailability.
Mr. Charles Dunkley on behalf of the Ports and Waterways Minister, Joe Tripodi, presented the award at a function held at Orange Council chambers. Citing Tim's efforts with Sailability by raising substantial funds for improvements to facilities and the purchase of the specially designed boats, Mr. Dunkley said how Tim has encouraged disabled sailors from Lithgow to Orange, Cowra to Young.
This is a very prestigious award and as a Club we are proud to support Tim and Sailability at Carcoar Dam Sailing Club.
Well deserved Tim!
